Questions

Is there trash pickup in Crozet?

Not from the county: Albemarle doesn't provide trash or recycling service, so you either subscribe to a private hauler or take it to the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center, 4576 Dick Woods Road. Ivy is open Monday to Saturday, 7:30 am to 4 pm; household trash is $64 a ton with an $8 minimum, or $2 Tag-a-Bag stickers (FY2027 rates). Recycling drop-off is free at the McIntire Recycling Center in Charlottesville.

How do you set up water and sewer in Crozet?

Public water and sewer come from the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA), the county's only public retail water and sewer provider. Call ACSA at 434-977-4511, weekdays 8 am to 5 pm, to start service; its 24-hour emergency line is 1-888-252-3468.

Who provides electricity in Crozet?

It depends on the address: electric service in Albemarle comes from Dominion Energy or Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC), and CVEC serves rural areas around Crozet such as White Hall. Ask the seller for a recent bill, or check the address with each utility, before you move.

What internet can you get in Crozet?

Crozet has Xfinity cable, and Lumos launched fiber in Crozet in October 2023 for its first few thousand homes. Firefly Fiber Broadband is building fiber in rural western Albemarle, including Rockfish Gap, Sugar Hollow and White Hall (May 2026). Coverage changes street by street, so run your exact address through each provider's checker.
